Does Traffic Exchange Programs Really Worth The Trouble?

It's been several months now since I've been promoting my website all over the Net and, having a extremely tight budget, I'm using most of the free tools available on the Web. A couple of months ago, as I was machinally surfing on the Net with my Traffic Swarm account, I ask myself if using these traffic exchange programs really worth all this time invested. As a young online marketer, I'm happy to see there are full of free and very useful resources to promote my website, but does traffic exchange programs really worth the trouble?

Habitually, when you register to theses TE programs, you agree to surf on websites that will introduce you to various business opportunities, marketing programs and promotional tools. By doing this, you win credits and you can use them to show your site(s) to other members, and hopefully convince them to join your downline. When you refer people to sign up for the traffic exchange, you will earn a percentage of the credits they earn. However, most members are using theses programs only to be able to promote their website; they aren't paying attention about any other pages. Of course, you'll receive a lot of visitors on your website, but what's the point of using this free system if nobody cares about what you have to offer?

Well, "most members" won't pay attention to your site, but some of them will. While they're using TE's, some members are also looking for other free programs to join and resources to consult - especially the new and inexperimented users - so you have to offer them what they want. However, you should keep in mind that if your page doesn't instantly grab the surfer's attention, they'll probably won't stay longer than 15 - 30 seconds (depending of the TE program policy) and they'll just switch to another page. So if you want to refer lots of people, you'll have to be creative!
