Some Tips for Healthy Eyes

The eye is the jewel of the body and your eyes are the first thing that is noticed by any person who looks at you, so it is very important that you keep your eyes sparkling and beautiful, because beautiful eyes enhance the looks of a woman. So take care of your eyes and keep it healthy.

Diet plays an important factor to keep your eyes healthy and beautiful. Most of the women these days are concerned about slimming and they are only bothered about how to reduce weight and keep fit. Just as you take care of your body, it is essential to take care of your eyes too, to avoid eyes diseases and for a healthy vision. So if you want to maintain and enhance your sight, it is important that you know what to eat. Proper consumption of vitamins A, C and E is needed to prevent diseases like cataract and night blindness. And good sources of these Vitamins are found in fruits and vegetables, especially if consumed raw, and in certain foods like spinach, broccoli, carrots, yogurt, eggs, salmon, grapes, raspberries, beef, milk, papaya, oatmeal, cheese, oranges, sweet potato, almonds, green vegetables, nuts and cereals. Since the diet we consume daily will not have all the nutrition required for healthy eyes, a daily intake of multivitamin is also recommended.

Exercises are also important for healthy eyes. In fact it is said that eye exercises could help a person see without glasses. Today in the hectic lifestyle and IT world, almost all work is done in front of a computer and that too for long hours and this is quite strenuous for your eyes. So remember constantly viewing the computer can damage your vision, so remember to take your eyes off the computer every 20-30 minutes and focus on some object for some time, say for about 15-2o seconds and get back to work again. Exercises such as focusing point, near and far focusing, scanning, palming etc helps to restore the health of your eyes. Rotating your eyeballs clockwise and anticlockwise about 10-15 times everyday will do good to your eyes. If sitting in front of the computer for long hours causes eye-pain, blink your eyes 5-6 times for immediate relief or rub your hands together and cover your eyes.

There are certain natural remedies for healthy eyes, such as, apply olive oil and massage around the eyes; a mixture of lime juice and rose water mixed together and stored can be used as eye drops everyday; apply cucumber juice under your eyes to remove dark circles; wash your eyes often with cold water etc.
