Reduce Stress, Increase Profits By Incorporating Strategic Systems In Your Small Business Success
Whether you are an Entrepreneur or Business Professional there are many things you do each week that would benefit from a strategic system to help you be more effective, reduce errors and stress, help you enjoy your time at work and give you more time to have fun outside of work.
Strategic systems are not static; they allow you to be flexible, creative, and spontaneous, and because they help you look at situations with a clear focus and a specific intention you can easily achieve your desired results. When you develop your strategic system you begin by setting an intention for what would be the best outcome in this area.
If we use the example of incoming mail both email and snail mail. An intention you might set would be to handle it only once, sort it effortlessly, and help you leverage your actions for greater success.
Once you set your intention and define the focus you can develop a strategic system to achieve that intention. With the snail mail those systems might include scheduling fifteen minutes a day to look through the mail when it comes in. The system could include a three tier sorting; things to throw away, things to file, and things to take action on. You can set up further systems so an action required on the mail will automatically be handled. In the case of accounts receivable or payable, answering an inquiry, scheduling a meeting, or call back?
Your systems would also include a file for reading material or reference and for handling mail that needs to be redirected to someone else who can handle it more effectively.
With the email you will want to have a similar sorting system. Filters can be helpful for directing the different email to corresponding boxes of important, reference, action, spam?
You can also have response emails set up for situations or questions that are frequently requested. This allows you to customize each response from a pre drafted template; cutting down your response time but allowing you to address each situation in the most efficient way.
Once you start designing strategic systems you will find that it's beneficial to keep adding to the system. One process will lead to another and each step of a process will be incorporated into the strategic system. This will allow you to move from your definition of success in a given area to implementation of the best processes to achieve it. Your actions will flow seamlessly from one strategic system to the next and nothing will be misplaced or forgotten.
The process of building one strategic system on another is an excellent way to boost productivity, reduce costs, boost employee and customer satisfaction and increase your profits.
Because your strategic systems are fluid you can easily update them when new situations occur or when you want to change or improve your definition of success on a given situation.
Make sure your strategic systems define success, include an intention, are simple, clear, and updated regularly.
Here's a simple 8 step process to help you create your Strategic Systems:
1. Define what success in a specific area looks like
You can develop Strategic Systems for everything that you need to do at work. Customer service, order fulfillment, meeting agendas, marketing, client referrals, telephone scripts, sales information, inventory, peer review, conflict resolution, training proficiencies, matching job outcomes to job openings, employee feedback, new product or service development, converting web visitors to sales?
Strategic Systems are powerful because they get the ideas and information out of your head and onto paper. They allow you to see the big picture and focus on a fluid procession of details that help you achieve big picture goals. This approach will get you working on your business and not in your business. Because you have clearly determined your definition of success in each area you can use inspired actions not reactions to effectively get things done.
All of these benefits lead to the ultimate benefit; you have more time and can have more fun because things are running smoothly. You don't always have to be there because the process is clearly laid out in the strategic system manual for each area.
Start small and develop the powerful habit of creating a strategic system for each area of your business.

How to Prevent Home Business Burnout
As a home business proprietor, you may already realize why avoiding "home business burnout" is so important. Even if you have only been working your home business venture for a relatively brief time, you may have already been aware of the need to maintain your energy levels and reduce your stress levels while you were involved in your other employment. Many people learn from their life experience to pace themselves, consume vitamin-rich foods, exercise and get sufficient sleep(at least 6-7 hours in every 24 hr. period). But while these steps are vital at every stage of life, they are even more crucial you first launch your business because the mental and physical strains are most severe during this time frame. When you were an employee, you may have been accustomed to a specific job and therefore left other details to others. But a work-from-home business will generally demand a broader spectrum of responsibilities than that. Much like a movie actor who decides to direct the film as well, the home-based business entrepreneur must rise to the occasion, and often with their life savings on the line and very few benefits.

SBAs 8(a) Program Can Help Some Companies Compete
Q: A friend told me that as a woman of Native American descent I might be eligible for a special SBA program that will help me start a small business. He said I could compete for government contracts through this program. Can you tell me what SBA program he's referring to? -- Clara P.
Competition in the Market Place and Over Disclosure Regulatory Burden
The Federal Trade Commission is assisting competitor to cheat and encouraging this unethical behavior thru their disclosure rule on franchisors. Competition in the market place is far more competitive and the stakes are high enough that Over Disclosure Regulatory Rules cause competition to take the advantage and cheat. And before you say I am off base on these comments, let me tell you that 20% of every single inquiry to buy our franchise comes from a competitor. That's right 20%.
Why Do Franchisors have Exclusive Territories
The reason we Franchisors call it an exclusive territory is because we will not sell that area again to another franchisee. That is your area to market and to conquer and to generally obtain as much market penetration as possible. If you are a home-based business or mobile franchise then this is a serious issue. You can put as many service units in your area can support and try to make the most reasonable profit you can per each service unit you put into your exclusive territory. Most franchisors charge a percentage of the gross income and probably make a little off every service unit you buy, so they want you to expand.
The SBAs Savviest Program
Forget everything you've ever heard about the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The negative connotations may have been warranted in the past, but the SBA is different these days. The SBA is worth every penny of its more than $22 billion budget on the basis of a single program alone: the SBA 504 Loan Program for small business owners who want to acquire or develop their own facilities.
FTC Franchise Rule if Enacted will Trigger Hardship for Private Sector
The FTC Franchise Rule maybe changed, as the Federal trade Commission has put out a report to the franchising industry as to upgrade the rule. If enacted will it will trigger hardship for private sector and cost many trees their lives; Paperwork. If this rule is passed; tree MUST die because everyone will have to their already 200 plus page franchise disclosure documents.

Outsourcing ? A Positive Approach For Small Businesses
Outsourcing is the strategic use of outside resources to perform activities traditionally handled by internal staff and resources. Small business owners can outsource non-core functions to specialized and efficient service providers. It is required of businesses to hire special contractors for particular types of work or to meet the demands put forth by sudden spurts in the workload. Recently, the trend of partnering with firms whose capabilities complement their own giving them an access to resources that were beyond their individual reach has come up. The difference between simply subcontracting and outsourcing is that outsourcing involves the wholesale restructuring of the corporation around core competencies and outside relationships.

Franchise Territories for Mobile Businesses; Why Limitations
In franchising an individual desirous of their own business will sign on with a franchising company and use their brand name, know how and expertise to make a living. The franchisor will generally assign an exclusive territory with limitations. In our franchise company we have mobile service units, which clean cars and we have to have territories to prevent in-fighting from franchisees which might inadvertently end up competing with one another.
