The End -- Fireworks or Fizzle?
Seems as though there are a lot of business closings going around lately. Everywhere I look small businesses -- one on top of another -- are closing their doors.
On small marquee signs, empty storefronts, and in the newspaper it's common to see the message, "ABC Company Closes It's Doors After 35 Years."
Is that what you want the newspaper to print about your business?
Somewhat deflating, isn't it? Like a balloon leaking air. So where will your business be in 35 years? Have you decided what "the end" looks like for your small business yet?
Decide -- now -- whether your business will end with an explosive headline such as, "QTD Company sold to YXZ Company for 10 Billion Dollars!" or fizzle out like ABC Company and fade quietly into the sunset.
Define your small business "end" now and work toward it. Dream big. Create a visual that shows exactly what you want your business to look like when you're done.
Define the steps necessary to make that visual you created a reality. Turn it into your plan for success by identifying how and when you will make each step happen. Take those steps and create a road map to follow so you can get there.

Boat Detailing Tips and Procedures
Auto detailers are often asked to clean boats and detail boat trailers. There is an easy and efficient way to do this with little effort. Washing and waxing boat trailers is an easy sale. Be sure to offer the boat owner a trailer wax. Let the owner know that a heavily waxed trailer is more rust resistant even when used in salt water. They can wax now or repaint later. To remove rust, brush on two coats of Ospho Acid, available in paint stores and marine supply shops. It will change the chemistry of rusting steel from an active to a passive state and stop rust cold.
Mobile Pressure Washing and City Contracts
Many mobile pressure-washing companies turn to government contacts to make money. It is very easy to acquire such municipal contracts for cleaning, as the government needs some cleaning up. The cities generally have a fiscal year starting in June, so you want to check on the available contracts around the end of March to see what is coming up, which departments will have budget monies available and also go and visit the local department heads to see what is needed. Believe me even local cities waste money and you may as well get some. If this bothers you, then make the money and donate some to a candidate who promises to trim some of the fat next year.

Most smart entrepreneurs and all large corporations have Employee Relations Manuals. All too often a minor incident can lead to a problematic situation and end up in court, union arbitration or a hefty fine from a government regulatory agency which often tend to side with the employee, regardless of fact.

Now, less than three years later, official figures show that only 40,000 of them still pay their dues and present annual financial statements. These firms are called "active" - but this is a misrepresentation. Only a very small fraction really does business and produces income.
