i recently made a visit to silent valley,did the bavani river trail and sailendry visit,i was lucky to have found malleeshwaram jungle lodge,the only lodge around,tucked well into the mountains,they also do organize many local treks around attapady hills too http://www.malleeshwaram.com/
the place is really a nature getaway

Now it seems Eco-Tourism has reached in our Palakkad also, after the government recently declared Silent Valley as one of the National Parks in India. I feel here to signify one main problem to reach visitors to this place is the travel from Mannarkkad for, I have heared there is no bus service in this route. I dont know whether this barrier has been removed now.
